This month our columnist PAT KEENOR is wondering if she might find herself at the cutting edge of fashion at last.
I MADE the astonishing discovery on the internet that overalls were now in fashion, with celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Kate Bosworth - and several other young celebrities who I had never heard of - wearing them.
It’s about time we Devon country folk were at the cutting edge of fashion - not that I will ever be donning a pair of Mole Avon overalls to go shopping in my village; they’re probably not a good look for a podgy Devonian stumpwort.
But some of my taller, thinner and younger friends should consider that overalls are not just for mucking out stables, milking cows and seeing the sheep - they are also for making a statement on the streets of Exeter and Plymouth.
I’m not exactly Victoria Beckham when it comes to fashion design, but I suggest pairing them with a nice pair of welly boots and a woolly hat - straw in mouth optional.
