IBC just got done with its first-ever virtual IBC Showcase 2020, conducted online, between the 8th and 11th of September, 2020. Following the announcement that IBC2020 has been cancelled due to the coronavirus, Michael Crimp, chief executive, IBC, had quoted, “Over the past few months, we have been keeping a close eye on the spread of coronavirus and the response of governments around the world. We have been assessing and planning for different scenarios, but it became clear that we would not be in a position to put on the kind of show that people expect of IBC; there were just too many unknowns.”
The current global pandemic has coerced businesses across verticals, to embrace new ways of reaching out by leveraging technology, media industry being no exception. The coveted mega-event, IBC Show, which is held at Amsterdam every year, is flanked by industry experts from across the world. IBC, one of the globe’s most influential media, entertainment and technology show, has always been an event underlined by the industry and for the industry. It allures thousands of attendees to the Dutch capital every year, and incorporates a magnanimous display of products, services, vendor solutions and exhibits pertaining to the broadcast industry.
CATCHING UP ON IBC SHOWCASE
