Q CAN I SHARE MEDICATION?
I had a headache and asked my supervisor for a tablet. She said she’s not supposed to give me any medication so she left the bottle of tablets on the desk and told me to help myself. What does the labour law say? ANONYMOUS, RANDBURG
A I don’t know what the labour law says about this, but I do know sharing medication isn’t a good idea – you should never share medication you get on prescription. Headache tablets and other painkillers you can get over the counter are less problematic, but even then it should ideally be the kind that comes in a blister pack – not just tablets in a bottle – so you are certain what it is.
If you’re getting heachaches frequently it would be best to see a doctor to uncover the root cause.
Q STRUGGLING TO CONCEIVE
I’m 31 and my husband is 39. We’ve been trying to have a baby for two years without success. He has three kids from previous relationships.
We sought medical help in 2016 and I was told I have a cyst that could be preventing conception. I was given medication, which I took for three months, but I still have not conceived.
