Climb inside a computer game, be wowed by stunning modern dance productions and laugh at crazy street comedy – do not miss entering the mad world of Great Yarmouth’s Out There Festival
Where else can you see life size Pac-Man running around a maze, see parks and streets taken over by the wild and wacky be wowed by daredevils and be entertained by intriguing music and dance?
Great Yarmouth’s Out There International Festival of Circus and Street Art, produced by SeaChange Arts, will this month transform the town into an interactive spectacle with innovative shows, awe-inspiring acts and spectacular sights and sounds.
The festival was launched in 2008 initially as a way to celebrate Great Yarmouth’s growing international links, to extend the traditional tourism season into the autumn and to highlight the work of Yarmouth’s arts initiative SeaChange.
Now it has developed into a major, globally renowned festival celebrating the best in street art and circus skills, drawing crowds of 50,000 people and attracting performers from 35 different countries.
“When the festival was initially held, it was very much a multi-arts event, but we felt that by focusing specifically on street art it was a great way of engaging audiences in Great Yarmouth who might not always engage in traditional art. It is highly accessible and reaches out to a lot of people,” says SeaChange Arts communication director Darren Cross.
