Tinder, which set up office in India last January, records an average of 14 million swipes a day—so how come your profile is just sitting collecting duds? The answer might lie in the most obvious place: your dating bio. Shivani Misri Sadhoo, founder of Saarthi Counselling Services in Delhi, says, “Your online dating profile acts as the first pitch to potential partners. It gives them a hint about your personality and what kind of partner you’d make. Ideally, your bio should spark curiosity and invite the reader to initiate a chat.” Sounds easy enough, but the many disappointed single women on these apps will tell you it’s not.
