Since leaving WWE, Cody Rhodes has been a man who’s in hot demand.

With two recent UK tours and another coming very soon, plus appearances all over the United States, there’s been no rest period for the 31 year old star.

In fact, Rhodes holds quite a unique statistic. He is the only man to have been on WWE’s WrestleMania, New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom, TNA’s Bound for Glory, ROH’s Final Battle and  Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s acclaimed Battle of Los Angeles show in one calendar year.

Darren Wood sat down with Rhodes to ask about his adjustment to the independent scene since leaving WWE.

Total Wrestling: You made the big decision to leave WWE on your own accord, how did you find the acclimatisation to the indy scene, it seems you’ve hit the ground running?

Cody: I think I’ve bit off just as much as I can chew and not a bit more. Because I’ve done everything and more I was hoping to do, a lot of these independent groups come across like independents, they come across as brands. It’s cool that I’ve done the more smaller independent shows, but also the larger companies too, last year I wrestled at WrestleMania, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Battle of Los Angeles, TNA’s Bound For Glory, Ring of Honor’s Final Battle and then obviously I did New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom, so the statistic is rather staggering for me, to have a period of these events coming so fast in a featured way, it ways heavily on my mind because you want each to be good.

It’s an impressive list and you had a list before Jericho had one...

[Interjects] Well, if you remember Jericho had a list way, way back. Remember with the holds. So with a list it’s always going to be Jericho’s.

Bea Priestley is bright and cheerful even at 9am on a Monday morning. A long way from what fans expect from her. To them she is a hard nosed bad girl, but on the other end of a Skype call is a very confident young woman who is keen to talk to James Truepenny about her past, her influences and her immediate future.
