INTRODUCTION

It has been a decade since the success of Cartier Treasures - Jeweller to Kings, King of Jewellers. That successful event was also held at the Meridian Gate Gallery, located at the south entrance of the Forbidden City. Once more, Beyond Boundaries symbolizes the close bonds of friendship, common inspiration, and savoir-faire between the craftsmen of Cartier and of China. This time, the exhibition brought us on a journey of understanding the significance of the cultural connections between the treasures and antiquities coming from the East and the West.
