The Aussie actor talks surfing, bum tanning and getting fit for Thor
My day starts with my kids jumping on top of me, yelling at me to get up! Then I have a shower; it has to be either really hot or really cold to wake me up. I spend a lot of time outdoors and love surfing so my skin takes a bit of a battering from the elements. My wife [model and actress Elsa Pataky] got me into Crème de la Mer Moisturising Cream a while ago and I’ve been using it ever since, as keeping my skin hydrated makes it feel healthier. I always use a high-factor SPF, too, such as Banana Boat. If it’s really hot weather, coconut oil is my go-to as it stops my skin feeling dry, and you can use it everywhere – hands, feet, hair. I always finish with Hugo Boss Bottled eau de toilette. It’s masculine and woody but subtle enough so you can wear it every day. I never want a fragrance that is so strong you can smell it 6ft away – that’s too much.
