Don’t let good manners or desperation keep you in a relationship you don’t want to be in. It’s not wicked to say NO, or turn someone down.
I just realised that women often feel obliged to accept a relationship even when we don’t want the man. There is even more pressure to be in a situation if one has been in a failed relationship.
Recently, someone had a panic attack because her ‘situationship’ wanted to take her on vacation, yet she wasn’t feeling the man, and was feeling guilty for not wanting a ‘good’ man. She told herself all manner of incredible things to justify. ‘Maybe I don't know how to be loved, maybe I have never been loved, maybe I’m scared. I am damaged and I don’t know a good thing when it drops on my head!’
Never once did she think, ‘maybe I don’t want this man. We have no chemistry, he does not stimulate me, he is boring, we don’t have similar interests, he is just not my type etc.’ I am not judging her. I was in the same position many times in my thirties. (I just turned forty and I am not letting anyone forget it!)
