A Stitch In Time

By 2022, the diabetic foot care market will have an annual turnover of over 3.5 billion USD in the United States alone. Nearly one in five diabetics develop some or the other ailment related to their feet, of which, about seven per cent are ulcerations. Follow that up with the fact that nearly 85 per cent of all diabetic amputations are preceded by ulcers on the foot.

Clearly, the news is alarming and as diabetics, taking care of one's feet is imperative. It is not surprising, therefore, that many medical journals, and healthcare publications, including Diabetic Living, India take this problem very seriously and have dedicated sections on this issue of diabetic foot, which, at the end of the day, is extremely easy to take care of, provided people read the signs and act on time.
