An itching dog is a common site, if you are a pet owner, but if it has become unstoppable and chronic, you should be worried. This might be a case of mites. Mites and ticks are parasites that aack the body of the owner and feed on its blood. There are two types of parasites that aack the animals especially during and aer the monsoon. There are ectoparasites and endo-parasites. Ectoparasites includes ticks, fleas, lice and mites that stick on to the body and feed on the blood of the host. These guests can easily stay alive for 2-3 months aer once sucking the blood. However, the other ones, endoparasites such as worms and insects reside in the stomach of the animal and feed on their nutrition.
