Early Detection of Alzheimer's through Blood Tests

Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions. In this disease, the brain cell connections and the cells themselves degenerate and die, eventually destroy memory and other important mental functions. It mainly happens when plaques containing beta amyloid form in the brain.

When the symptoms get worse, it is very difficult for the person to remember any recent activity, thing, event or any people they know; and the person needs full time assistance.

Alzheimer is the fifth leading cause of death for those over 65 years, and it is estimated that it can grow exponentially over the years. This disease mostly strikes people in this age group or older.

There are certain signs and symptoms that should not be ignored:

  • There will be a memory loss, which will disrupt day-to-day activity of a person.

  • They face challenges in performing or solving any kind of problem.

  • They get confused with time or place.

  • They face various new problems with words while speaking or writing.

  • If they are familiar with any kind of activity, performing them becomes a challenge.

  • Misplacing things and finding it difficult to trace or find them again.

  • Have trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships.
