TRAIN WITH THE BEST!

Cora, everyone has their own special story about how they got involved in health and fitness. Could you tell us a little bit about your journey to where you are today?

My fitness journey began when, as a little girl in the Philippines, I saw my first woman with muscles. She looked so beautiful. So powerful. And I wanted to be just like her. What’s amazing is that I became great friends with this woman once we all immigrated to the US. Her name is Yoli and she was one of the first female competitor I ever knew, and she was my initial guide into the fitness world. My first husband was also a major influence as he taught me the basics of good fitness training and the importance of persistence and consistency in creating great results. I used those lessons to gain my pro card and I use them every day in the gym with my clients. Persistence and consistency. In the gym and in life and business. They are how I approach my life. They are my one-two punch!

What is your typical workout routine?

I am very disciplined and consistent in my training. That being said, my training changes as my goals change and I always build my training routines around goals. When I was competing that was simple: I had an off-season, a time for prep, and a time for competition. Now, I use other things to motivate me. One of my favorite things to do is to create group goals that I can pursue with friends. That being said, I am an old-school fitness fanatic. I love to push iron and I start my day at 2:45 when I awaken. My husband and I train together and are in the gym each morning for lifting and/or cardio 6 days a week with at least two days a week devoted to legs. I love legs!

What are the fundamentals of fitness to you?
