The Bhagavad Gita talks about the intention, the thought behind our work.

How we do the work is not the only important thing, the heart and the thought with which we do the work is equally or rather more important. It is what we call Bhava at The Yoga Institute. While performing our duty, is our entire focus on the end returns? Is one eye on the paycheck all the time?

Since childhood, we are conditioned and at times groomed to expect something in return for what we have done. If we have recited a poem well, we want others to praise us. If I have written a good article, I look for appreciation or a nod or a nudge or something from my friends. If I go out of my way to help someone, the least I expect is a ‘Thank you.’
