Old homes have built-in character, and this 1940s bungalow is no exception.
Located in the historic Kenwood neighborhood of St. Petersburg, Florida, its charm captured the attention of Brooke Eversoll, president and principal designer of Bee Studios, Inc. She immediately knew it was “The One.”
“My husband, Ted, and I absolutely adored Historic Kenwood, but it was a hot market, and homes went fast. We had already lost out on a Craftsman bungalow a week earlier,” Brooke says.
“This property came on the market, and we saw it within hours of it being listed. It was a three-bedroom/two-bath home, which was very appealing, and it was on a double lot, so the yard was huge. I stepped through the front door and said, ‘This is the house. I want this house!’ My realtor was a little taken aback because, at 1,472 square feet, it was a little smaller than what we had in mind. He suggested we write a letter to the sellers about how much we adored the home. We put in a full-price offer, and it was ours!”
