You can do your bit to help birds and mammals that are finding it hard to find food in the heat
Could summer 2018 beat 1976? It’s definitely got a record-breaking feel to it, hasn’t it? Here in Pembrokeshire the grass is scorched brown, rivers are low, and the ferns and mosses in woodlands are as crispy as cornflakes.
It’s marvellous, but wildlife is suffering – and could do with help. The birds and animals that are finding life especially tough are the ones that rely on a diet of invertebrates, like worms, small slugs and snails.
