Keeping an environment which is clean and tidy, happy and healthy is key to improving our mental health, and your bedroom is actually one of the most important areas for you to keep organised. As it’s your place of rest, if it’s cluttered it can absolutely affect your wellbeing. Clutter isn’t just physical, it’s mental and emotional and it has a profound effect on your mind.
It’s very common to feel like you can’t effectively declutter your home, but it’s proven to boost your self esteem when you do manage to do it. Try and get yourself into the right mindset for decluttering. It can take a lot of mental energy to do these tasks. Whether you should go bit by bit or do everything solidly in one weekend simply depends on who you are as a person. A lot of people have emotional connections to their possessions, but anything you can get rid of is a real achievement. Once you start to see the effects of decluttering, the easier it becomes.
