Sicily’s cultural essence isn’t only widely represented and associated with Dolce & Gabbana’s vibrant sartorial creations. The largest island in both Italy and the Mediterranean Sea also counts veteran wine producer Donnafugata as its pride too.
Both brands formally crossed paths in 2017 when Dolce & Gabbana served Donnafugata’s wines for their events. This amiable relationship has led the pair to work on a customised wine blend that embodies their Sicilian heritage. Thus, Rosa was born.
Bingo if you’ve identified Rosa as a rosé. But it’s unlike its siblings available in chain stores. Specially concocted for Dolce & Gabbana, Rosa combines two significant Sicily vines: the mineral floraltinged Nerello Mascalese from Mount Etna and fruity Nocera. Characterised by a refined pink tinge, this distinctive original wine is defined by an elegant bouquet of jasmine, enriched with delicate hints of wild strawberry, peach and bergamot.
