What started out as a way for Gang B a d o y - C a p a t i to deal with her eczema turned into a therapeutic mindfulness exercise that helps keep her—and the students in her soap-making class—centered. “Precision is required when you need to create a balanced formula,” she says. “You cannot be distracted nor multi-tasking when handling something as caustic as lye. So as a mindfulness exercise, it’s a great movement meditation.”
