FrogFest, a programme highlighting the uniqueness and importance of frogs in nature and culture is underway in Delhi. We bring you a few snippets from this cultural event that aims to inculcate conservation values towards this precious amphibian.
“Kya chal raha hai?
FROG chal raha hai” - wrote a visitor in the FrogFest guestbook. But what is FrogFest you ask? Well, read on to know more.
FrogFest, launched at the WWF-India Secretariat in Delhi in January, is a beautiful culmination of Seema Bhatt’s lifelong habit of collecting frog artefacts from practically every corner of the earth!
In progress from January until the end of April, FrogFest celebrates frogs in nature and culture. The festival includes an exhibition of Seema Bhatt’s private collection of around 400 frog artefacts from 30 countries. From Kenya to Costa Rica and Japan to Java, the collection is a fiesta of frogs in all shapes, sizes, and hues. Photographs of frogs for the information panels were generously shared by Dr. S.D. Biju and Dr. K.V. Gururaja.Kott
As part of the FrogFest programme, WWF-India has organised a series of educational and fun activities including illustrated talks by experts, films, frog origami, tribal art workshops, frog quiz and games, nature trails and more.
