The Jogis Of Jogi Mahal

The Jogis Of Jogi Mahal

It has been more than a decade of our repeated sojourn to the Ranthambore National Park. After a break of three years when we went back to Sawai Madhopur (our 15th trip this summer!), we found the park teeming with feline families!

We remember many summers, when despite multiple safari trips we returned to our Gurgaon home with no sighting of the striped beauties. As a family of wildlife enthusiasts, we feel that Ranthambore National Park has improved a lot over the years and the area reports an increase in their population as well; a testament that the park’s officials have been diligent in their duties. Although we are yet to encounter the radio-collaring practices seen in the national parks and tiger reserves of Karnataka and Maharashtra.

During our recent journey in April, we came across adults as well as juvenile tigers, along with elusive leopards and jungle cats. In the past, whenever we sighted more than one tiger, it was usually a tigress with her cubs. For the first time in our years of travel, we were delighted to see a tiger pair.
