The OM-D series has been the signature series from Olympus with classic looks merging with compact design. With their Pro series of lenses, the company has even managed to produce some superior optics for these cameras. The OM-D E-M10 is the entry-level model in the OM-D series and the Mark III features quite a few improvements over its predecessor.

Design and Build Quality

The OM-D E-M10 Mark III is a compact and lightweight camera crafted with a sturdy engineering plastic body and a matte finish complete with textured faux leather lining. Two command dials adorn the top panel along with a mode dial, Power/Flash Up switch, accessory shoe and three buttons. Overall, the camera has a neat layout with a classic look.

Key Features

The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III is a Micro Four Thirds system camera, which uses a 16.1-megapixel Four Thirds Live MOS sensor (17.3 x 13.0 mm). The sensor unit uses a supersonic wave filter to keep off dust. A built-in 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilisation system is believed to provide approximately four stops of shutter speed advantage while shooting stills and videos.

The E-M10 Mark III uses a 2.36 M-dot eye-level OLED viewfinder with a 2-axis level gauge and grids including normal, trichotomy, golden grid, scale, diagonal and movie grid. The main display is a 3.0-inch, approx. 1040-k dots electrostatic capacitance touch panel, which can be tilted up by 85 degrees and down by 45 degrees. The camera uses high-speed imager AF, utilising 121-point contrast AF method. Focus modes available are Single AF (S-AF), Continuous AF (C-AF) and Manual Focus (MF) along with tracking capability. The device features face and eye detection AF along with Peaking function.
