Talking Turkey: Thanksgiving Leftover Food Safety

The copious amounts of leftovers that take over the fridges of many households makes food safety especially important during this season. Proper handling, storage, and reheating are key to safe leftovers for the days that follow.

The first step to keeping your leftovers safe is to refrigerate or freeze foods that require reheating within two hours of serving. Cooling foods in a timely manner helps prevent bacterial growth.
