TAG Heuer revives the famed Autavia model, with a new movement but under the old Heuer name.
The TAG Heuer Autavia of 2017 requires a bit of explaining. It is basically a three-counter chronograph with a somewhat oversized rotating bezel, and powered by a brand new in-house calibre. While that is an accurate description, it leaves out the meandering history of this model and why collectors have been hankering for it. Some watch models, like this one, bear the weight of both history and expectations. These are new watches that desperately want to capture the magic of a particular collection or even a specific watch.
