In 2021, Flores will reach into his “Patriot Way” bag and implore a running back by committee approach.
This has become a more common theme in the NFL if you do not have one of the premier running backs in the league, and Miami does not. And while that may sound like a bad thing, Miami is rolling into the season with three solid running backs that can all add value in different facets of the game.
The first running back, and the one who will likely lead the pack in snaps this season, is the third-year running back, Myles Gaskin. The former Washington running back was selected in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft and has shown he can be a steal for Miami.
Gaskin’s biggest issue is staying healthy, as he has only played in 17 of a potential 32 games. However, in the games he has played and been healthy, Gaskin has been productive and shown he deserves to get his touches this season.
