Saving lives in the Amazon rain forest
In areas where there are few roads and villages are isolated and difficult to get to, delivering vital supplies is extremely difficult. The Amazon rain forest is home to thousands of local indigenous communities spread across very remote areas. WeRobotics, in partnership with its local affiliate, Peru Flying Labs, studied the feasibility of using fixed-wing drones to deliver vital supplies to isolated locations. The first tests of the autonomous drone technology included field testing in the Contamana region of the Amazon.
