Sergio Garcia’s 19 under par 269 aggregate sealed a 12th European Tour title and hinted, once more, at career defining major championship breakthrough.
WILL SERGIO GARCIA FINALLY BAG that elusive major championship? History will be the ultimate judge, of course, but the Spaniard’s Omega Dubai Desert Classic victory suggests his time may be nigh. Garcia started the first week of his 19th European Tour season confronted with questions about his will to win, the theory being that his longevity and recently announced engagement to former Golf Channel reporter Angela Akins might somehow take his eyes off golf's biggest prizes.
The 37-year-old ended it with the most emphatic answer by capturing a 12th European Tour title when he took a three stroke lead into Sunday and stared down the iceman, Henrik Stenson.
Does the fire still burn within, Sergio? Does it ever.

AMATEURS OFTEN STAND OVER THE BALL with their feet too wide apart. I understand the appeal—they want to feel more stable throughout the swing, and a wider stance seems a logical way to achieve that.
