Our very first mbr demo day was a blast!
Where in the world can you demo the new Intense Tracer 275, theSpecialized Levo e-bike, Trek’s Remedy, a Nukeproof Mega, the Canyon Strive, Scott’s latest Spark, the Vitus Escarpe and loads more, all on the same day? Nowhere, except at the first ever mbr Demo Day last month, where 200 readers were treated to a VIP day of bike testing.
This was a demo day like no other, though, with 13 brands all converging on the Forest of Dean to help riders try as many bikes as they had leg strength for, on a choice of easy blue or challenging red trails. Bricks and mortar brands, such as Cannondale and Specialized, pitched up next to internet-only companies like Rose, Canyon and Vitus, so you could compare and contrast along the exact same trails.
“It was a perfect day in the first bit of sun this ‘summer’,” Focus-sponsored Olly Wilkins, told us. “The trails were buzzing with riders and there was a really fun, laid-back atmosphere on the demo loop out in the woods. Hell of a day!”

CANNONDALE MOTERRA NEO CARBON 2
It’s got more suspension tunes than a Hitchcock movie, but will this Moterra thrill us or chill us?
100% GLENDALE GLASSES
When it comes to eyewear, having a large lens not only offers a lot more protection from trail splatter, it puts the frames further out from your field of view, allowing you to focus on the terrain in front of you. The Glendale is absolutely vast, and actually has a lens size akin to a full downhill goggle, so you literally can’t see the top or sides of the frame.
DMR STAGE 2 MTB RAIL SADDLE
DMR's new Stage 2 MTB Rail is one of those new/old products. The shape and construction are identical to the existing Oi Oi saddle, but the company has wrapped it in a new skin and added some harder-wearing reinforcement to the edges. It's also toned down the lairy graphics; this saddle only comes in plain black.
