PAT NEVIN reckons the future is bright for Chelsea as they build a squad around top talent from England and Germany.
After a topsy-turvy campaign last season, the Blues bagged the Champions League when they edged past Manchester City with a 1-0 win in the Porto showpiece.
Thomas Tuchel had only been in the Stamford Bridge hot seat for a few months before he secured glory in Europe’s elite competition.
The German replaced Frank Lampard, sent packing by owner Roman Abramovich in January following a poor run of results.
He had spent lavishly in the 2020 summer transfer window, with Timo Werner and Kai Havertz costing more than £100million between them.
But Nevin believes the German duo, along with Chelsea’s Three Lions stars, means Tuchel has got strong foundations to build on.
The ex-Blues winger said: “Over the next few years Chelsea will start to see the best of Havertz, Werner, Mason Mount, and Reece James.
