A bomb threat was made to the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Colaba and the Taj Lands End hotel in Bandra in Mumbai, Maharashtra from Pakistan on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The caller, who identified himself as a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit, threatened to blow up the two hotels in Mumbai.
Security has been beefed up at and around the hotels following the threatening calls from Pakistan.
The first call was received at around 12:30 am by the Taj Mahal palace staffers. The call was from a Pakistani number. The caller identified himself as a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and said that the hotel would be attacked by their members. He said the Taj Mahal Palace and Taj Lands End hotels would be blown up as it happened in November 2008.
