Jab Passports For Footie Matches

Fans are set to be banned from football grounds unless they are double-jabbed.

The Tories are finalising controversial plans to force supporters to produce vaccine passports.

It would apply from Premier League champions Man City to the bottom of League Two – raising fears of financial meltdown at struggling clubs.

VACCINE passports set to be introduced at football matches could result in 210,000 fans being red-carded each week.

Supporters face being locked out of stadiums in England unless they are double-jabbed.

Plans to show passports at turnstiles are being finalised by the Tories after talks with footie chiefs, the Sunday Mirror can reveal.

The move would apply to ALL 92 professional clubs in England – raising fears of financial meltdown for lower-league teams who need matchday cash to survive.

Last night Labour’s shadow secretary of state for sport Jo Stevens cried foul.

She said: “To insist on vaccine passports less than a month before the start of the season will cause major disruption, especially at the lower end of the pyramid.

“The Government has chopped and changed their advice, making it impossible for people and businesses to plan.”

Mirror analysis reveals the potential impact on fans. Around 800,000 will attend Premier League games each week as full crowds return. Taking out children, that leaves 704,000 – and 30% of those are not double-jabbed.

It means 210,000 would be locked out – plus many more in the second-tier Championship, League One and Two.
