I studied fine art at Goldsmiths, University of London, and at the time I was rooted in painting and sculpture. My photography was always an experimental process in the research phase. I feel coming into it with a fine-art background and a painterly eye has allowed my images to develop a unique voice.
Story telling and aesthetics have always played a key role in my art and whether I’m working on a new collection, a commission, or shooting commercially, I try to remain true to my own voice and craftsmanship.
When I was 16, my parents bought me my first Canon DSLR, and I remember taking it everywhere with me, shooting the mundane and everyday objects; small details in a smile and facial expressions. Throughout the years I have experimented with different equipment and techniques, but I am a Canon girl through and through. It’s the piece of kit that feels like an extension of my body.
