The Thunderbird
Prehistoric Times|Winter 2021 #136
Today we have an excellent, new kit based upon a scene from Ray Harryhausen's cowboys vs. dinosaur film, The Valley of Gwangi.

The Thunderbird

It is sculpted and released by Joe Laudati. This all resin 9 piece kit is approximately 1/20th scale. Each wing is 7 and the rock it's mounted to is 8 tall. The castings are very nice, and as a super added bonus for the builder there is an extended wire cast into the wing for insertion into a predrilled hole at the top of the rock. This gives a fantastic illusion of flight. Wires are also cast into the legs that nicely fit into the predrilled holes in the young boy’s shoulder, making assembly much easier.
