IT was 55 years ago today, on October 7, 1965 that Hoops legend, Jim Craig played his very first game for Celtic.
Rather aptly, his first game for the club featured continental opposition in the shape of Go Ahead Eagles from Deventer in The Netherlands – but little did the 22-year-old Glasgow University dental student know that less than two years later he would play a pivotal role in Celtic winning the European Cup.
Here we revisit an interview with Jim that looks back at his career – including the two aforementioned games, although the big one has the surprisingly briefest of mentions.
