After a narrow penalty shoot-out loss to Chile in the semifinal, Cristiano Ronaldo walked straight down the tunnel and out of Russia. The Real Madrid forward took to his social media account to announce the birth of his twins and that he would miss the third place play-off match to be with his family. There were reports during the tournament that Ronaldo was to become a father for the second time with the help of a surrogate mother.
