NOTTINGHAMSHIRE head coach Peter Moores admitted his bowlers had produced some ‘extraordinary’ cricket to conjure their side’s six-wicket victory over Lancashire on a final morning when 12 wickets fell in 90 minutes at Emirates Old Trafford.
Harry Gurney (6-25) and Jake Ball (4-14) caused Lancashire to collapse from 49 without loss on Sunday afternoon to 73 all out in less than 16 overs, eight of wickets tumbling in 10 overs on Madhouse Monday.
“The quality of the bowling and catching was absolutely fantastic,” said Moores. “I thought Harry Gurney set the tone. He bowled brilliantly all game, he held his length and moved the ball both ways.”
