MWC: Huawei Rolls Out New Devices As US Government Claims Their Technology Could Be Used For Spying
Close to getting their smartphones banned by the US Government and under investigation in Australia due to security concerns, Huawei has used Mobile World Congress to try and deliver credibility for the questionable mobile devices and 5G network technology.
The under siege Chinese phone maker has unveiled the Huawei MateBook X Pro and the Huawei MediaPad M5 Series in an effort to compete with Samsung.
Due to a lack of interest in their products by some sections of the media, Huawei paid several journalists airfares and accommodation to attend their launch in Barcelona, as Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was being told by US security experts at Homeland Security that Huawei and their 5G networking technology was a major “security risk” to Australia.
