When you’re writing simple, everyday letters and other documents in Word or whichever word processor you’ve chosen, you may well never – or rarely – venture beyond using fonts such as Arial, Calibri and Times New Roman. There are times when basic and elegant is what you need, but also times when you need something a little different.
Windows includes a pretty decent range of fonts, ranging from the professional to the quirky. And when you install applications such as image editors and word processors, they’re likely to add a few of their own.
But there are thousands of fonts out there, both free and paid-for, with something to suit every document and project you may be working on.
We’ll show you were you can find the very best fonts, how to install them, how to manage them, and how to use them.
Step-by-step Managing your fonts in Windows 10
1 Viewing installed fonts
There are already a number of fonts installed in Windows 10, and it’s helpful to be able to preview these and any others you may install. Open Settings, click Personalization, and then click the Fonts section to the left. Scroll down to the Available Fonts section and you will see previews of the fonts you have installed. Click any font you are interested in to see more information.
