A visit to the iconic Ou Skip Holiday Resort is always a welcome break from the bustle of city life.

Set along the Cape West Coast just outside Cape Town, the resort offers camping and caravan stands, tented camping and chalets, event and function facilities and a variety of activities to suit the entire family in search of the perfect holiday.

Ou Skip with its 206 level grassed sites is one of the largest resorts on the West Coast.

There are five neat ablution blocks at Ou Skip offer hot and cold water, showers, baths, a scullery and a laundry.

The resort also offers 86 permanent tented campsites that are also fully self-catering, and has fully equipped self-catering chalets if camping is not your thing. The chalets are neat and functional, all you need to do is turn up and have the holiday of a lifetime.

As if those aren’t enough camping options, Ou Skip also has a bush camp for those who want to “rough it”.

Ou Skip is graded by the SA Grading Council as a 3-star resort, and a pleasant venue for the entire family to enjoy their holidays in a safe and secure environment.

The friendly staff at reception will point you in the right direction for all you camping needs and braai grids are available for a refundable deposit of R100 at the main gate for the half drum braais at each stand.

To get a feel for the large stands, we set up our tent, gazebo, camping chairs, dining table and groundsheet (kindly supplied by Tentco) before lighting a braai fire and cooking some meat to accompany a selection of fresh salads for lunch.
