To get that coveted, beautiful skin, give regular facials a rest. Dermatologists, all over the world, have come up with magical skin treatments to grant you that boon. BHG explores the revolution!
Ever wondered what celebrities eat, drink or apply to sport that perfecly radiant skin, even when they are not made up? The secret is out and has now trickled down to us, mere mortals, who have always dreamed of that elusive glow!
Dr Chiranjiv Chhabra of Delhi based Skin Alive reveals, “The concept of a conventional facial is relaxation, massage and some nourishment for the skin. However, alternate facials are skin therapies devised to not only deeply nourish the skin, but also treat specific skin concerns like dehydration, acne, pigmentation, brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles, ageing skin, laxity, allergies, rashes as well as sensitivity. This means that these are formulated to tackle problems resulting in a fresher, cleaner, healthier, more toned and younger looking skin.” These skin therapies, which until recently were considered holy grail for only a select few, are done at a dermatologist’s lair. Dr Madhuri Agarwal of Yavana Aesthetics Clinic, Mumbai, says, “Alternate facials can be customised according to skin type and issues. These facials use a variety of natural and dermatological ingredients that deliver effective results. And the result is radiant, healthy skin that is achieved by removing dead skin cells, improving the cell turnover and repairing the skin without harming it or damaging the skin barrier function.” And to get such fabulous skin, Dr Simal Soin of Delhi-based Aayna emphasises that a combination of equipment like suction, vacuum, micro currents, LED lights and potent enzymatic serums are used.
