In celebration of Mother’s Day – and inspired by our gorgeous cover this month – we take a look at some of our favourite celebs whose daughters are all grown up and following in their famous mothers’ footsteps.
The original supermodel’s minime is taking the modelling world by storm. Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber turned heads with their exquisite Vogue Paris cover shoot in which their resemblance, down to the gaze from those doe eyes, is uncanny. The only thing Kaia is missing is the signature Cindy mole. But with her modelling career in full swing at just 15, she already has a stellar portfolio, boasting a first shoot with Versace at the age of 10, being recruited by Alexander Wang for his 2016 spring ad campaign, being chosen as the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty and receiving the Breakout Female Model of the Year award at the Fashion Media Awards in 2016.
When Marc Jacobs presented the award to her he said: ‘While we were in the studio shooting, Kaia was fantastic in every way. Her beauty, charm, incredible personality and her professional work ethic prove that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.’ Just like her mom, she handled the compliment with grace and humility. ‘I’m not sure if everyone here knows who my mom is or not; her name is Cindy – hi, Mom! A lot of people ask me what my mom has taught me about modelling. The truth is, the things she teaches me go deeper than what pose to make or what my good side is. She teaches me to be kind, punctual – if you know her then you know she’s very punctual – and to stand up for myself. And when I think about it, aren’t these things every mother should teach their daughter?’
