The Woman|August 2017

You might think you don’t need a wedding planner until you encounter your first hitch and you throw your hands up in the air wishing someone else were dealing with it. Well, wedding planners are there to take away your grief. After all, it is your day. You should not be stressing so much, should you? The Woman spoke to Mosaic Event’s Krupa Khimji, a very well-known wedding and event planner on how she makes dreams come true for your fairy-tale moment

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A LUXURY EVENT DESIGNER? WHAT DOES MOSAIC EVENTS SPECIALISE IN?

“My passion and ability to do a good quality event was the reason why I decided to become a luxury event designer. Over the years, I was always inclined towards doing my personal events and always saw a lack in detailing and lack of quality from vendors and planners. I truly found that the market was flooded with too many commercial players and I did not get my money’s worth. Hence, I decided to get into the world of professional luxury event planning.

“Mosaic Events Oman specialises in providing high quality detailed event solutions. We manage the maximum destination weddings that come into Oman. Besides destination weddings, we have done international conferences, fashion shows, milestone events that take place in the country. Recently, we have also started hosting destination events and weddings taking place from Oman in International Markets.”

HOW DO YOU KEEP EACH EVENT UNIQUE? WHAT’S THE MOST SPECTACULAR EVENT YOU HAVE EVER PUT TOGETHER?

“I like to have one unique element per event in terms of décor, entertainment, wedding/ event stationary, F & B menu planning, giveaways and use of updated technology in some form. In the last year, I have highlighted the above through different events:

1. DÉCOR: We did a destination wedding with an Chinese prohibition era themed night at a large open venue. We brought down 11 Thai Florists and containers of flowers from Thailand. The floral artists we brought down work for the Thai palaces and do very intricate work. The work was flawless and the most unique work I have ever seen or done. The history of the era was well studied and all elements were from the era for instance Chinese calligraphy, Chinese dragons and other symbols.
