Not everyone can say they’re best friends with their children, but Angela Griffin certainly can. After spending lockdown with her husband, Jason Milligan, and their two daughters, Tallulah, 16, and Melissa, 13, in their north London home, the 44-year-old is more grateful than ever for her lot – especially as everyone got on so well.
‘I realised I don’t think of them as being little kids any more,’ she tells us. ‘We can sit together and watch a film, then we’ll talk about it afterwards and they have opinions, so they are like my mates.’
The former Coronation Street star cautiously adds, ‘I hate saying that because I’m their mum. But they’re people I really like spending time with and that’s really ace – and it meant I didn’t feel so isolated.’
As well as watching films together in lockdown, Angela and her family made sure they stuck to a routine, and ‘would give each other space but always come together for meals,’ cooking together and experimenting with lots of different foods.
