Availability of diverse variety of food items.
This article is in response to an interesting situation assigned to me – “You were dining at a 5-star restaurant with a couple of friends. Your experience was unique on that day due to unusual circumstances, the restaurant took more than 45 minutes to serve you. Along with the regular chit chat – you also glanced at the menu and were drawn to the influence of globalisation on the menu card”
Offering my thoughts on identifying and tracing the impacts of globalisation on the above menu card
At the outset the actual concept of “menu” itself is a product of globalisation. The usage of a menu card dates back to the Song Dynasty in China. The very words “restaurant” and “menu” is a French origin and the contemporary menu card also first appeared in France in the second half of 18 the century (The Romantic Age)
The impact of globalisation is also significant in the accessibility and availability of diverse variety of food items
