Designed by Pooja Bihani of Spaces & Design, Monkey Wrench in Kolkata, the office of a celebrated graphic designing
brand, is a free-flowing, open, and interactive workspace maximising every inch, with a library as a must-have feature.
Pooja Bihani visualised the space as fluid and open. The boundaries defined by typical partitions and doors had to be shattered in the mind and the space itself had to inspire the graphic designers with “countless possibilities”. She further explains, “The design theme revolves around fluidity, openness, and interactivity.”
INSPIRATION IN THE AIR Pooja strongly believes that the most effective workspaces seamlessly connect the physical environment to the core values and ethos of the organisation. She understands that when people work in a space that resonates with the principles and mission of their company, they are more likely to find inspiration and motivation within that environment. This philosophy lays great emphasis on creating a design theme that embodies fluidity, openness, and interactivity, ensuring that the Monkey Wrench workspace not only functions efficiently but also fosters creativity, collaboration, and a sense of belonging.
By prioritising these elements, Pooja aimed to craft a workspace where employees felt connected to both the physical space and the larger purpose of their work, ultimately enhancing productivity and satisfaction. Traditional boundaries were removed to create an expansive, inspiring space. Key elements reflecting this theme include the infinity workstation, the grayscale round conference room table, neoncoloured accessories, and bespoke artwork by the client’s daughter.
