BS A GOLD S TAR 650 ₹2.99 Lakh - ₹3.35 Lakh
Not on the things that matter. A lot of motorcycles have fallen prey to the same ideology, with the brand marketing minds scratching their heads to figure out what went wrong. It is not an easy task to make a good motorcycle and tugging at people’s heartstrings with something that is a mechanical being, fundamentally, becomes an even harder task. Hard. Harder. What about the hardest part? The hardest part comes in when you are reviving a brand as iconic as BSA and rolling out a modern retro roadster which evokes the same feelings as its medieval counterparts. That’s a tall order to climb but by the looks of it, the BSA Goldstar seems ready for it. While the entire nation is arrested in the frenzy caused by Coldplay’s India tour announcement, this one-man band called the Goldstar seems ready to sing its own symphonies.
WHY A ONE-MAN BAND?
Unlike your normal music bands which involve a drummer, a bassist, a vocalist and a bunch of other chaps, the Goldstar is riding solo. Currently, this is the only offering by BSA under the huge umbrella of Classic Legends. A lot is riding on the back of the Goldstar - the prima facie being its legacy. The Goldstar is a legendary moniker with its name carved in… gold. It first marked its debut in 1938, before the onset of the second world war. It also played a pivotal role in the world war that ensued a few years later. A thoroughbred war machine? That’s sheer legacy. Another reason why I have termed the Goldstar as a One-Man Band is because of its engine configuration as there’s only one cylinder singing the symphonies. Moreover, there’s no sprinkle of additional vocals either, in the form of electronics or premium cycle parts. It is all riding on a single beating heart and a legacy that stands unmatched.
