Sub-four metre SUVs might be the most competitive segment in the Indian automotive industry in recent times, but the compact SUV segment above it is also starting to heat up. The Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos may be the titans here, but they both now face stiff competition against the likes of the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and more recently, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Honda now joins the party with its newest player, the Elevate. This also marks the unveiling of an all-new Honda model in India in quite a while and could have the right formula to be the carmaker's next big volume seller as well as make quite a splash in the hotly contested compact SUV segment.
