Klute star in a lather over steamy affair to his dying day

ANKY actor Donald Sutherland went to his grave still lusting for Jane Fonda — more than 50 years after the big-screen stars shared a steamy extramarital affair, reveal sources.

The romance blossomed when the two were cast as lovers in the 1971 thriller Klute. He played a detective who falls for a prostitute portrayed by Fonda in an Oscar-winning performance.

“We’d already been cast but had not started shooting,” Sutherland said of their instant attraction. “One day, [Jane] made it very clear, via a somewhat provocative suggestion, that I should come home with her. And I just said, ‘OK!’ ”
