Serious questions have been raised about the safety of having cosmetic surgery abroad after mum-of-two Kaydell Brown, 38, died last week after a 'Mummy MOT' at a clinic in Istanbul, Turkey. Tragically she didn't survive the surgery - which included a tummy tuck, boob job and Brazilian bum lift- and reports have since suggested part of her vital organs are missing.
Kaydell is one of 28 Britons who have died as a result of cosmetic surgery in Turkey since 2019, according to Foreign Office stats, as going under the knife overseas becomes more popular mainly because of the low cost.
And for many celebrities, a trip to Turkey for a nip and tuck is par for the course, with countless famous faces nabbing cheap deals or freebies to get bum implants, boob jobs and face lifts in exchange for coverage.
But for reality star Lauren Goodger, who flew to Turkey for a Brazilian bum lift, it's something she regrets bitterly, calling it "the worst decision of my life".
In light of Kaydell's death, and her own harrowing experience, Lauren is urging other women to think twice before doing it, saying "It's just not worth it."
"My heart goes out to this poor woman and her family," she says.
"To think she went out there wanting to become a better physical version of herself, but never made it home to her kids - it's just awful." Lauren's experience occurred in 2017, four years before she had her daughter Larose, when she got the opportunity to fly out to Turkey to have fat from her body injected into her bum.
This was her second Brazilian bum lift, but as the first operation didn't give her the big bottom she craved, TOWIE star Lauren, who is papped on a near-constant basis, went back for more.
"I look back now and I honestly think it's the most traumatic thing I've ever done," she tells us exclusively.
