After stepping out in a show-stopping scarlet gown, a source says the Duchess of Sussex is leaving her royal past behind and ready to reclaim her Hollywood roots

Meghan Markle once said she was determined to "blend in" using her muted royal wardrobe, but that idea seemed a distant memory when she turned heads at a gala charity event earlier this month.

Stepping out in a fiery red, low-cut designer dress, and with her tousled hair hanging loose around her shoulders, there was no question who'd be making the headlines the next day.

Four years after leaving the UK and abandoning her beige royal wardrobe a source tells new that the striking fresh look is part of Meghan's big comeback, and to demonstrate that she still has what it takes to be a huge Hollywood star.

"Before she met Harry, Meghan would always wear eye-catching outfits like that on the red carpet, and would love the attention they brought," they said.

"She has admitted herself that once she became a royal, she really had to tone down her wardrobe and make more conservative choices, as well as claiming she wasn't allowed to wear a lot of colour."
